What Wedding Signage do I need for my big day?

It can be a bit overwhelming, staying up until early hours of the morning on Pinterest and Instagram seeing all of these beautifully planned weddings with pictures of wedding signage and you don't even know where to start?

"Maybe a Welcome sign? I'll need a Seating plan so guests know where they're sitting. Table numbers, of course! Place cards as favour’s too - what a great idea!" With all of this running through your head and on top of your forever growing list of things to do for your Wedding, it can seem a bit much sometimes.

So to save you the headache, we've put together a few dos, don'ts and must haves to simplify your wedding signage requirements.

Firstly pick the materials you want to work with. Acrylic, Timber, White Board? Work out what's best going to suit with your wedding theme. Then have a think about wedding colours, do you want your Wedding Signage to stand out and be a real feature to your Wedding? Or would you like your wedding signage to simply slide right in and not take away too much from the styling and table decor?

Firstly, let's have a look at the necessary wedding signage you will need:

Welcome Signs - The perfect keepsake to your wedding!

Style it so it ties in with your theme (colours, fonts etc), choose a layout whether it be portrait, landscape, rectangular or even circular in shape. This is a piece of wedding signage you will keep forever - we guarantee it! You could display it in your home for many years to come.

Seating Plans - How will anyone know where to sit?

Yes this is absolutely necessary unless it is a cocktail wedding. A well-formatted seating plan will make it much easier for your guests to find their names and table number. Seating Plans don't always have to just have table numbers and names, you can add the B&G names, and table numbers could be destinations the couple have visited? The key to a successful seating plan is ensuring the names are legible.

Table NumbersTie these in with your table décor

Yes you need table numbers, that’s a given but they don’t have to be ugly. Time and time again we see too many beautifully styled weddings with the “Pub” look a like table numbers in the chrome stands. What will your guests think? Will they give me a buzzer me when my food is ready? Keep it simple and classy. Keep the fonts in line by matching it to your menus and place cards.

MenusThe yummy part!

Guests want to know what to expect when it comes to meal time so let them know by either placing a table menu on each table or a small menu per guest. If you’re worried about having too much on the table you can double up on these by placing table numbers on your table menus and names on the menus. Two for one!

Menus don’t always have to be food menus, they could also include a drinks/bar menu - Essential for cocktail style weddings, dessert bar menu and even canapé menus for their pre-drinks.

Place CardsMake them favours!

Wedding favours can be tricky, how much do you want to spend? You want it to be personal right? You can’t get more personal then named place cards. Go for an acrylic look or even marble? Have them anyway you want! Again, use the same fonts and themes as you have with the rest of your wedding signage and stationary for a seamless look.

Wishing Well Sign

It’s always a good idea for have a wishing well sign next to your wishing well as not only does it point out where our wishing well is, it is also a way of saying thank you for their generous gifts.

Other Wedding Signs you could add to your special day could include:

Timeline Signs

Don’t keep your guests guessing what’s coming up next, let them know the plan for the day and night by outlining it on a timeline sign. Have it on display for everyone to see!

Directional Signage

Great if you’re getting married on a large property or the ceremony is a short walk from the car park. Directional signage doesn’t need to be just arrows, it could include small love quotes to add a bit of personality to the wedding signage.

Love Quotes

It’s always nice to add a bit of personality to your wedding by having your favorite love quote or saying that you share with your partner on display at your wedding. You could opt for a larger sized quote sign to put near the dance floor or some cute smaller signs around the reception area.

Acrylic engagement Photo Sign

Grab your favourite photo from your engagement shoot and have it on display at your wedding. Use it as a thank you message or even as a well wishes board that guests can write on. Makes a great keepsake for your bedroom wall too!

Basically, when it comes to your wedding signs, the opportunities of designs are endless. It comes down to what look you are trying to achieve and how much you want to personalize your wedding.
